About Us

Tarabanan Cottages is a small, family-run, eco-friendly, and community-centered establishment in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines. We aim to every day make our efforts sustainable and socially responsible by using minimal energy, growing our own vegetables, providing livelihood to our own community, and promoting community-based tourism.

Be one with nature

We are committed to the environment and the development of our local community. Our waste plan is based on reduction, reuse, and recycling. Our water comes from groundwater where we use a manual pump to reduce energy consumption. We collect rainwater for our own organic garden where we provide our guests with an organic and seasonal menu. We have our own compose that we also use for our garden. Our staff, composed of family members and folks from Sitio Tarabanan itself, are trained on efficient energy consumption and recycling to raise awareness as they understand that each one can be responsible for significant energy savings.

The idea for the creation of this enclave is for our guests to get in tune with nature without the disturbances of technology, forgetting the time altogether, for a very affordable price. It is going back to nature. We encourage our guests to just relax in our special Zen spots and reading areas in the company of good books and drinks.

Where We Are

We are located in a community of friendly people called Sitio Tarabanan, Barangay (village) Concepcion, 68 kilometers from the city center of Puerto Princesa, or about an hour drive from the airport. The residents of this little village are the warmest, friendliest and the most helpful. Sitio Tarabanan also hosts the Batak Center that showcases the culture and serves as a museum of the life and works of the remaining tribes in Palawan, the Bataks. We are very much part of the community, and we want to continue to be a place where locals and visitors enjoy and take care of the environment while taking a break from the stress and monotony of life.
